Columbia, a leader in innovative outdoor apparel, has introduced a jacket lining called Omni-Heat. Omni-Heat technology allows the user to wear a lighter weight jacket but keep warm like they are wearing a heavyweight parka!  The Omni-Heat material maintains (and not lose) the natural body heat, thus keeping the wearer warmer!  The jackets have been shown to boost heat retention by up to 20%! 

 

Omni-Heat works by using thermal reflective technology (the silver lining that is shown in the picture) that regulates your temperature by reflecting the warmth your body generates, while dissipating moisture and excess heat to keep you comfortable.  The lining not only provides heat retention, but it has a high level of breathability to reduce excess heat and moisture.  Omni-Heat has proven to be the highest per gram heat retention of synthetic insulation in the industry.  The material has a soft hand and is eco-friendly with 50% recycled content.

Five Popular Collegiate Tech Accessories Around $1

One of our largest segments of clients is the university and collegiate market.  We are often asked for ideas for products that run in the $1 range.  Since college students are tech savvy, computer accessories make great promotional products.  So we decided to pull together five popular promotional product tech accessories. 

1.  Micro Fiber Cloth - These cleaning cloths are useful products because students have electronic devices, including cell phones, iPods, cameras, and computers.  The micro fiber cleaning cloths are decorated using four color process artwork, so they can be printed with any image desired.  These cloths are available in a number of sizes.  To provide an idea on price, a 6" w x 6" h cloth runs $0.82 each for an order of 1000. 

2.  Cleaner Cell Phone Charm - Similar to a microfiber cloth, this product is made for cleaning cell phones and other small LED screen devices.  The advantage of this product is that is it can be attached to cell phones, key chains and other devices with its attachment.  For an order of 250, these run only $0.34 each!

 

3.  Slide Media Case - With most students having some type of portable media player, camera or cell phone, a case to carry the product in is a useful item.  The Slide Media Case is made from a neoprene material, has as a carabiner clip to hang off of backpacks and a slot opening for the product to slide into.  This product is available in six popular colors and runs under $1.15 for an order of 2500.

Drinkware is the fifth largest promotional product category and continues to be a strong product category with new product options.  Drinkware is an effective promotional product because it is useful, appreciated and long lasting. 

In the category of travel tumblers, there are two new popular options that have surfaced over the past year that we want to feature.

The first option is a reusable ceramic coffee travel tumbler that looks like the disposable coffee cups you get at a coffee shop.  However this cup is much more substantial in weight (well it is made of ceramic) and it keeps the liquid inside hotter longer.  This tumber retains heat through its silicone lid and double wall porcelain that traps air for insulation.  In addition, there is a silicone stopper that prevents water from entering the hollow cavity when washing.  This mug is available in either 11oz or 16oz and comes in four colors.  The pricing for the 11oz option is as low as $5.78 each. 

The second new product is a reusable plastic travel tumbler that also can be used to replace disposable coffee cups.  This style is available in 16oz and 20oz (one of my coffee shop clients says 70% of their coffee sales are 20oz).  The travel mug comes in ten vibrant colors, has double wall construction, a screw on lid, is dishwasher and microwave safe and is BPA free.  The 20oz option is as low as $2.56 each (on sale through 12/31/10)!
